LSU Admission and Scholarships



We are pleased to announce that our priority deadline has been extended to February 1, 2018 to accommodate the increased number of students who have expressed interest in LSU.
 
High school seniors who apply by February 1 will be fully considered for admissionscholarships* and the Ogden Honors College. Our admission committee will review each student's application holistically. 
 
Your students can apply through our application or the Common Application. Both applications serve as the application for admission, scholarships, and the Ogden Honors College.

Troy University Scholarships

First of all, our scholarship deadline has changed to December 1. We will require students to apply for admissions, be accepted and apply for the scholarships through our new scholarship system by December 1 in order to be considered for any scholarship. We will continue to superscore ACT/SAT scores but must have all scores in by the December 1 deadline to consider an applicant for an award.

All scholarships are now competitive and are no longer awarded automatically. An essay will be required for the Millennium and Chancellor’s scholarship applicants and a resume will be required of all Leadership Scholarship applicants. The academic requirements for the Millennium Scholars, Chancellor’s and Excellence in Leadership scholarships will remain the same, but the values and quantities of each scholarship are limited.  
·         Millennium Scholar’s Award: Valued at $11,000-$15,000 annually
·         Chancellor’s Scholarship: Valued at $7,000-$10,000 annually
·         Excellence in Leadership: Valued at $1,000- $4,000 annually

Our online scholarship application will be available on September 1st at: http://troy.edu/scholarships/undergraduate/troy-scholarships.html. We will electronically notify scholarship recipients by February 1, 2018 of their awards.

ExtremeTerrain: 2 x $3000 scholarships for students(includes high school seniors) pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Research, Land Use, Earth and Atmosphere Studies, Sustainable Land Management, Parks and Recreation, or Sustainable Agriculture Systems. One scholarship will be awarded for the fall semester and another for the spring semester each year.

That’s why we created the CollegeCounts Scholarship: to provide funding assistance to Alabama high school students who demonstrate a financial need and a genuine desire to make a difference in what’s next. If you’re thinking about enrolling at an Alabama college or university, don’t let funds get in the way. The CollegeCounts Scholarship might just be for you!

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:
  • Be a high school senior or first-time college freshman beginning in fall 2018
  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be an Alabama resident
  • Planning to enroll in an Alabama eligible educational institution in fall 2018
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Have an ACT score of 26 or below
    (applicants attending a two-year school will not be required to submit ACT scores)

Award Details

Awards of $4,000 for four-year college enrollees and $2,000 for two-year college enrollees.
Award is one-time, non-renewable and granted on a semester basis in the first academic year.

College and Career Fair at Oak Grove High School

 
 
The Corner/Oak Grove Basketball Game on November 16th will also be a time to visit with representatives from 22 COLLEGES.  Oak Grove has extended an invitation to Corner students and parents to attend the College Fair on the Oak Grove campus between 5:30 and 7:00.  This is a great opportunity for students at all grade levels.
